This is how employment agency FID gets employees to learn

This year, staffing agency FID launched its own online environment to provide their employees with knowledge and skills in an inspiring, fun and, above all, effective way. Through SkillsTown Connect, they use the online SkillsTown platform to do so. We spoke to Joris Levering, manager of commerce & operations at FID about his experiences.
"Our own employees work both from our offices and on request at our clients' locations. We are spread all over the country, so we have close contact with our flex workers," says Joris. It is of utmost importance to FID that all employees are in the right place, the flex workers and our own employees, such as the intermediaries. "We ourselves are our differentiator. So it is in our interest both personally and professionally that our people are in their strengths within their positions. Both in terms of efficiency (doing things the right way) and effectiveness (doing the right things)."
To ensure this development, FID will start working on the FID online platform in the near future. In doing so, they will start with their internal employees. "Our intermediaries are the first point of contact, so it is important that they adore and adopt this platform. Then we will explore whether we want to expand this towards the flex workers. After all, lifelong learning is a theme for both." If the platform is also offered to the flex workers, toolbox meetings and instructional videos from companies will be added, for example.
Both proprietary content and existing
The platform will be a combination of existing and proprietary curricula. For example, the hiring process for recruiters and in-house sales training will be embedded in the content. "We have 5 different categories, from front office to back office. Each group gets its own individual learning line. Here you can think of customer-oriented questioning for the acquisition department, or for example time management or Excel for the planners and verloners."

This includes offering a management traineeship within each function. We believe that leadership is present in everyone. Our goal is to make and keep the best people."

Joris emphasizes that in doing so, there is no room for a culture of judgment, but a culture of development. "We are a learning organization. To learn, you have to be able and dare to make mistakes." Ultimately, FID wants to set up a personal development plan for each employee with room to look beyond their own learning lines.
