About the latter, Rinske says, "We find it extremely important that employees continue to learn throughout their lives. That way they are sustainably employable for our clients." Daniëlle adds: "Development is central for our employees. Our employee satisfaction survey showed that they find personal and professional growth very important." For these reasons, Driessen has taken proactive steps to fulfill their job promise.

Looking for a broad range of learning

A broad learning offer is very important to Driessen, as they want to support not only their own, but also their many flexible employees in lifelong learning. Daniëlle says, "Our flexible employees are a bit further away from us, they work for different companies in different sectors. So it's a diverse target group with different functions. That's why it's very important that we can offer a broad learning offering that is relevant to all employees."

"Online learning was a conscious choice during our search for a platform to provide learning opportunities," says Rinske. "Employees are at a distance from us. You have to reach them all. Plus, online you can deliver a much better learning offering than live." Thus was born the Driessen Academy.

"Together with SkillsTown we set up the Driessen Academy, the online learning platform for all our employees," says Danielle. "We made the conscious choice for SkillsTown, as they have many online training courses at different levels and in different learning formats. Furthermore, they have a training package for the government. This was important to us, as many of our flexible employees work in the government sector. Also, we were already familiar with contacts within SkillsTown and found it super nice that they are so thoughtful and that there are short lines of communication."

"Since we made the move to the Driessen Academy, there has been a big increase in the use of the platform," says Rinske. Danielle says: "The employees love the learning platform, we have received many positive reactions. The self-direction is experienced as very pleasant and their growth is rewarded through the certificates they can obtain."

Daniëlle continues, "Learning and development is important to us, so we want it to remain highly visible to our employees. For example, we ensure that we continue to share information from the platform in our newsletter and that the platform is highly visible on our intranet. We advise every organization to keep employee development high on the agenda."
