Lifelong learning for Ditio employees

Customer case

Ditio aims to add value, by putting the right person in the right place. They work on projects within the public and private sector from the areas of expertise: Project Management, Document & InformationManagement, Turnaround and Quality Management. In doing so, they deploy SkillsTown's digital platform. We spoke to Rick Ardts, director of Ditio, and Monique van der Holst, Manager Academy at Ditio, about their experiences.Rick Ardts is director and founder of Ditio: "I started Ditio 10 years ago because I felt that more was possible. I come from the technical secondment sector, where I linked professional knowledge with the right workplace on a daily basis. But with that I missed the added value and my own influence on the whole process. From there Ditio was born. It is very important to me that someone has passion for their work and wants to share that passion, often even more important than having the right papers and knowledge. The knowledge and skills of our professionals and consultants are ultimately our capital. We realize that every day."

Pygmalion and Ditio

Pygmalion is the name of a myth in which the dream or goal becomes a reality. Under the name Pygmalion, Ditio gives their employees (Ditiosi) the opportunity to continue to develop. Monique van der Holst, Manager Academy, Change Lead and Business Development, directs this development process. "It is our aim to always deliver added value to our customers from expert knowledge and smart solutions. We achieve this by focusing on innovation and knowledge and, of course, on the ever-changing market around us. The central question is: how do you best deliver added value? Not only now, but also in the future."

"The beauty of this platform is the diversity of the offerings as well as the ability to add your own learning materials."

Lasting value

"Our employees are our added value. Because we not only want to continue providing that added value to our customers now, but also in the future, it goes without saying that we are eager to invest in our Ditiosi. We see the world around us changing; think of the transition in the energy market, the complexity within projects and the digitalization that is constantly going on and becoming more and more important. In addition, we want to focus more and more on innovative solutions and products. The idea is that our people are not only employable now, but also in the long term and, above all, that they are and remain happy. After all, hard and smart work is even better when you do work in line with your qualities and where you can grow in a way that suits you. And that is what we want to offer our people."

Online Academy

Monique: "We quickly got in touch with SkillsTown. Like us, they are very future-oriented and with the help of their platform our Ditiosi can actually become lifelong learners. Thereby, of course, online learning became a must in the past year more than ever."

Ultimately, Ditio wants to use the Pygmalion Academy to offer an individual development path with a personal learning and development plan. Monique: "The great thing about this platform is the diversity of what we offer and the ability to add your own learning materials. Because we offer all this online and in different learning formats, our Ditiosi can absorb the required knowledge in the time and manner that suits them. Whether it's picking up Excel knowledge, developing communication skills (what is the real desire behind the customer's question), or perhaps someone just needs to learn to take a step back to protect their own boundaries. Within Pygmalion, we therefore offer general knowledge, subject knowledge and proprietary modules. In a very diverse collection of teaching methods; from short videos to extensive background information and from we-learning (together) to e-learning (where and when you want)."

"I think it's incredibly important that everyone continues to develop so that we can continue to provide that added value, to our customers and to our Ditiosi."

Outside your comfort zone

Monique: "We believe in the talent of our Ditiosi, but we also want them to believe in themselves. That's why we want to give them room to try new things. Look that dragon in the mouth, get out of your comfort zone and dare to be there. Because real development, that takes guts."

Rick concludes, "I am proud of and have faith in our new academy. I think it is incredibly important that everyone continues to develop so that we can continue to provide that added value, to our customers and to our Ditiosi."
