Ellen ter Gast

What happens in our brain when we learn? How do we know? Neurobiologist and philosopher Ellen ter Gast opens the day and takes you into the lab of neuroscience in this lecture. She shows how knowledge about the brain helps to better understand learning and improve learning processes. She also explains why we cannot compare our brains to computers. Ellen is adamant: AI will never become smarter than humans, but using AI does make us dumber.

Ernst-Jan Pfauth

To conclude the day, Ernst-Jan Pfauth, media entrepreneur and author of Intentional Living, gives an inspiring lecture that helps professionals work more effectively and experience greater satisfaction. He shows how to consciously choose meaningful work, reduce distractions and achieve sustainable results with more focus and peace, based on insights from psychology, philosophy and practical experience.
