SkillsTown commits to 50+ professionals with Experience Award

There are some 7 million over-50s in the Netherlands and it is expected that in five years, one in two adults will be 50-plus. Online training provider SkillsTown thinks it's time to engage with this group. Therefore, they are supporting the presentation of the Experience Award again this year. This award rewards 50-plussers for their expertise and experience. The initiators of the award hope to take away the prejudices about this target group and highlight the advantages.
The award for people over 50
This year marks the second time the Experience Award has been presented to a professional from 50-plus. This award symbolizes the expertise and experience that exists within the 50-plus group. "The promotion around the award has already started and we hope to receive a large number of nominees this year," Prekash Ramsingh, initiator of the Award enthuses. "With this award we also want to create awareness of the added value and present a realistic picture for experienced 50-plus job seekers."
Hand in hand with training and development
The reason online training provider SkillsTown joined the initiative is their vision around training and development. "At SkillsTown, we believe in lifelong learning. Development doesn't stop when you reach 50. That is why we think it is important to also facilitate this target group in their personal and professional development and to support both the employee and the employer in this. That is why we offer every nominee a 6-month subscription to our online training program. A great way to stimulate training and development," said Hans Schuurmans, CEO at SkillsTown.
