Eindhoven, Feb. 8, 2024 - SkillsTown, the leading online training provider, is taking a big step forward in inclusive online learning by introducing the first online learning platform in the Netherlands that is is accessible to everyone. The innovative platform breaks barriers by providing accessibility for people with a variety of disabilities, including visual, hearing, physical and cognitive challenges.
A revolutionary step in inclusive learning
About 4.5 million people with disabilities live in the Netherlands, representing 25% of the workforce. "We are proud to be the first in the Netherlands to make learning accessible to everyone. By adapting our platform to WCAG standards, we can offer a learning opportunity that is truly inclusive," said Tom Bos, CEO of SkillsTown. "It's about not excluding anyone and providing equal opportunities for everyone who wants to learn and grow, regardless of the challenges they live with."

Learning without limits or barriers
At SkillsTown, accessibility is paramount as a standard, with a learning environment that enables everyone to learn and develop. For example, subtitles are available for employees with hearing impairments to follow videos, while descriptive alt-texts to images and text size adjustments facilitate learning for those with visual challenges and dyslexia.
The platform is designed to allow navigation without a mouse, which makes it accessible to users with motor limitations, and the interface is intuitive, allowing all users to move efficiently through training and materials. In addition, there are settings to adjust color contrast within the online learning platform, providing an optimal and comfortable learning experience for those with difficulty in color recognition.
Developing your own inclusive learning content
SkillsTown believes that development knows no boundaries. With the authoring tool "Create," SkillsTown enables organizations to design their own inclusive learning content. This tool allows anyone to create materials that meet the diverse needs of their employees, making learning offerings not only broader but richer.
An invitation to growth
SkillsTown invites companies and individuals to experience the difference in learning and provide each of their employees with the resources they need to excel. The platform is available to all organizations that value inclusive learning and development.
