's Hertogenbosch, June 23, 2023 - At a time when poverty is on the rise in the Netherlands, online training provider SkillsTown has decided to make a positive difference. Therefore, today, at location Huis73 in 's Hertogenbosch, SkillsTown made a donation to the Voedselbank and Quiet Den Bosch. This donation represents no less than 250 online training subscriptions, with a total value of €40,000. This will give households the opportunity for free development.

SkillsTown has partnered with the Food Bank and Quiet Den Bosch to support the target group of both organizations through free online training. With this initiative, SkillsTown wants to emphasize the importance of learning and equal access to education. "Lifelong learning and development is essential in our rapidly changing world. Unfortunately, many are still left behind due to financial barriers," said Hans Schuurmans, CEO of SkillsTown. "Everyone has a right to education, regardless of their financial circumstances."

The official kickoff ceremony took place this morning at Huis73 in 's Hertogenbosch. The ceremony was attended by Alderman Marianne van der Sloot, who inaugurated this collaboration between SkillsTown, Voedselbank Den Bosch and Quiet Den Bosch.

"This partnership with SkillsTown allows us to do more than just provide food. Now we can help people increase their competencies and improve their job prospects."

Voedselbank Den Bosch, which works to alleviate (hidden) poverty and prevent food waste, welcomes this initiative: "This collaboration with SkillsTown gives us the opportunity to do more than just distribute food. Now we can help people increase their competencies and improve their chances of getting a job," said Lodie Hofland, president of the Food Bank Den Bosch.

Quiet Den Bosch, an organization dedicated to making poverty more livable, also sees great benefits: "We strive to support and empower our members. This extraordinary opportunity offered by SkillsTown gives them the opportunity to broaden their horizons and increase their self-confidence by learning new skills," confirms Tessa van Berkel, project leader at Quiet.
