How happy are employees really?

Happy employees perform better, are sick less often, have more energy and are more involved in their work than less happy colleagues. Their happiness is also contagious: happy employees create a good atmosphere in the workplace as well as satisfied customers. But what is the true level of happiness among Dutch employees? In this infographic we show you the most important figures.It is important to make good use of talents. It ensures that employees enjoy what they do more, perform better and feel better about themselves.The only question is: how do you get more out of the talent of your employees? Lucky number

Research shows that nearly 50% of Dutch employees give their job happiness a rating of 8 or higher. 29% score his/her job happiness with a 7 and 20% give a 6 or lower (source: gelukkigwerken.nl).

Nice collegial

56% of Dutch people think they have nice colleagues. And that's not much when you consider that we often spend more time with our colleagues than with our best friends. Of working Dutch people, 40.5% say they have good friends at work (source: bureauvris.nl).

Employees who have a strong bond with their colleagues are lucky, as it turns out that these people, among other things, receive more recognition (43% more than others), are more stimulated to develop themselves (37% more than others), experience higher work quality (35% more than others) and feel more like their opinions count (27% more than others) (source: wetalent.co.uk).

What makes you happy?

According to scientific research, there are 5 factors that influence job happiness. These include the challenge employees have in their work, the need for social relationships and contact with others, positive emotions experienced during a workday, the feeling of flow (being completely absorbed in an activity) and that the work being done is perceived as meaningful (source: insightsbenelux.com).
