Being busy is not cool. Make time for your development!

How many times have you answered a question with: "I don't have time for that"? Development is often touted by the organization to employees, however, many employees feel that this does not fit into their schedule. But time must be made! So make time now to read how to do this....
Don't take on too much
Do you recognize it: you take on a big job for a few days or weeks from now because you think it's not going to be busy. Yet by that time you find yourself overloaded with tasks. Be aware that your schedule won't just calm down unless you actively work on it. People will always demand time from you if you let them. So don't think too optimistically about your schedule but look at it critically. Make sure you keep a flexible schedule. This applies to your work schedule, but also your personal schedule!
Schedule time structurally
In addition to not overfilling your schedule, it is important to structurally schedule daily time slots for development time. For example, schedule an hour every night for a workout. If your friends want to meet up unexpectedly, they can really wait an hour. It is better to agree this with yourself in advance than not to keep your appointments. And remember that an appointment with yourself is often more valuable than one with your friends.

Being busy is not 'cool'
When you ask a colleague how things are going, nine times out of ten they say, "busy. It seems like this word has become a status symbol by now. As if you are more successful when you are busy. But not being able to make time for the things that are really important to you, such as your personal development, isn't that cool? So it is important to leave behind the need to be busy. Start looking at the things that really matter.
Make it a habit
Research shows that learning a new habit takes about 21 days. After this, it all gets a lot easier. Those three weeks of working on your development for an hour every day is tough, but when you look at what it brings to the rest of your development journey, it's well worth it!
Do you have trouble creating habits? Then the best thing to do is to link your development to a daily action. During a lunch break each day, for example, read at least 5 pages of your book, or listen to a podcast during your drive to work. Try carefully to find out which habits work for you.
