7 ways to deploy a learning line

Are you already using learning lines to encourage employees to learn? A learning line provides guidance for learning and development. It is a series of interrelated courses that employees can then go through step by step. For example, consider a learning line focused on digital skills. In this article, we share 7 ways learning lines can be used within your organization.
1. Onboarding of new employees
New employees often receive a lot of information in their first week of work. How convenient would it be if they could find the most important information in one place? In our online environment, it is easy for organizations to create their own onboarding curriculum. Think about topics such as reporting sick, working hours and introducing colleagues.
2. Focusing on a theme
Perhaps there is a particular theme central to your organization. For example, do you want to focus on customer focus or vitality? Then you can create a learning line with e-learning modules, webinars, essentials and scans that fit this theme. A nice idea is to switch themes every quarter or six months and adjust the learning lines accordingly. This way you encourage your colleagues to take a look at the academy regularly.
3. Mandatory content
Some topics are so important to all employees within the organization that they must be covered on a mandatory basis. Think of customer data protection or security protocols. When you bundle these mandatory modules into a learning line, it's clear to employees at a glance what content they need to go through anyway.

4. Based on job profiles
Certain positions in your organization are bound to have certain skills. Once you have mapped out the different job profiles within your organization, you can put together a learning line for each job and link it to the right people. In this way, you immediately make the academy more personal.
5. Own content by employees
Did you know that your colleagues can very easily create their own essentials? If you put the best creations together in a learning line, they are easy for other employees to find. For example, have your colleagues create essentials about their work or about a theme that appeals to them.
6. Individual learning lines
Have you held a development interview with an employee and set the development goals for the coming period? Then you can prepare a learning line for this employee with modules related to the competencies to be developed. This is how you help your colleagues with their personal development.
7. 'Fun' curricula
Learning can also be fun! A learning line with fun, approachable courses can trigger employees to take a look at the learning environment. Once there, the step to taking other courses is small. For example, choose to create a Summer School learning line in the summer period, with different language courses.
