5 tips to make the most of yourself this summer

Do you also have a less full mailbox, a quieter office or maybe even entire projects lying dormant during the summer months? Don't spend this precious time staring at a screen or endlessly scrolling through your Instagram feed. Work on your professional and personal growth this summer! These five tips will help you get the most out of yourself this summer:
Tip 1: Work on your (personal) development
Summer is an ideal time to invest in your professional and personal growth. Maybe your job-related skills need an upgrade, or maybe you give in to the insistent emails from Duolingo to brush up on your French. By taking online courses, you can easily improve your technical skills or work on your soft skills.
Need some screen-free time? Learning can also be done offline, of course. For example, by reading an inspiring book or listening to an educational podcast. Our listening tip? Long live learning of course!
Tip 2: Take advantage of sunny weather and longer days
Okay, the Netherlands is not exactly Mallorca in terms of climate. Check. All the more reason to take full advantage of the days when skies are bright blue! Did you know that a walk in nature helps you concentrate better and also boosts your creativity? A good reason to use your lunch break to explore your surroundings.
Have a work meeting you don't need your laptop at? Organize a meeting in the park, or consult while taking a walk. The outdoor air and natural light can help create a more relaxed and productive meeting.
Do you live within a reasonable distance from work? Then consider biking to work. That way you'll start your day with fresh energy.
Tip #3: Morning sunshine!
Starting as early as the second week of April, the sun rises before 7 am. This period of early sunrise continues until early September and brings many advantages. For example, it is much easier to get up when it is already light outside. In addition, you can use the energy you get from the morning sun to be extra productive in the morning. Or do you decide to have an extended breakfast in the sun anyway. That way you start the day right away with a head start and also a satisfied feeling.
Tip 4: Semi-annual reset
Are you already familiar with the six-month reset? Good intentions are not just for the new year. Summer is the perfect time to evaluate, adjust or just set new goals. This applies both on the professional and personal level. This way you stay motivated and maintain your focus!
Perhaps you still have creative ideas that normally remain on the back shelf, now is the time to dust off these plans!
Tip 5: Change workstations or pimp up the office
Changing your workplace every now and then can bring new inspiration and energy! Explore the co-working spaces in your city, find a quiet corner in one of the hip coffee shops nearby or soak up the sun at a picnic table in the park.
